I’m excited to share the room reveal for our daughter’s nursery with you today! I really wanted this nursery to be pretty neutral and to feel relaxing and calm. I can’t imagine a more perfect space for our little sunshine!
Before I share all the photos, make sure to get caught up on the key project in this nursery: the wallpaper mural! I shared a full tutorial on how to install a wallpaper mural here.
Before we look at the reveal photos, let’s take quick look at what this room looked like when we first got the Hills House:
This room was used as an office by the previous owner. It had a giant desk in it, carpet and just looked really dark. I’m excited to show you what it looks like now!

Nursery Tour
Without further ado, here’s our daughter’s nursery at the Hills House!
I really love how the wallpaper mural turned out, it’s definitely my favorite feature in the nursery!
After spending hours (if not days!) looking for the perfect rocking chair, I could not be happier with this Pottery Barn one! I think it looks so cute and unique and it is beyond comfortable. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve fallen asleep in it while rocking my daughter to sleep, haha!
If you take a close look at the rocking chair you can spot the cute little dog shaped pillow my mom made, it’s adorable!
My DIY entry table is not a perfect fit in here but I’m glad it found a new spot at the Hills House. Plus, I love being able to set the sound machine with the clock right next to the rocking chair.
This dresser holds a special place in my heart because I found it on Craigslist for free (what?!) when I first moved to San Diego almost 10 years ago. It’s solid oak and back then I decided to paint it but I’m excited to remove the paint in the near future and bring back the natural wood.
I debated whether or not to remove some of the items we use daily that aren’t necessarily pretty to look at but I decided to give you a real life tour of our nursery – including the practical things we use every day! We use the diaper pail, the changing pad (the fact that it’s wipeable is a game changer and makes it worth every penny!) and the diaper caddy daily. I love this set up and plan to have the same for our son.
The bookshelves are another item I really love! I actually customized them by painting them white and adding little scallops to the rail with some leftover paint I still had. I think they turned out really cute!
I pinch pleated the curtains myself using IKEA curtains!
I’m so glad I added a rug in the nursery, I think it makes a big difference and I love that it’s washable. Fun fact, we actually don’t have any rugs in our house that are not washable anymore!
Last but not least a close up of our daughter’s crib! I really love this one and spent a lot of time researching different options. I wanted a crib that would grow with our daughter and this one is a 5-in-1 crib that will eventually convert into a toddler bed, day bed and even a full-size bed.
Isn’t the color of the crib so beautiful?
