There are so many decisions to be made during a kitchen remodel. However, when we decided to completely gut and renovate the kitchen at the Hills House one decision was quick and easy for me: I knew I wanted to splurge on a beautiful Hallman range and make it the center piece of the new kitchen! I ordered the Hallman 48 Dual Fuel Range in white with brass trim. We’ve had our Hallman range in our home for almost two years now and if you’re looking for an honest Hallman range review along with detailed pictures of the Hallman range 48, you’ve come to the right place!
Update (as of April 16th, 2025): “After two decades of dedicated service and innovation, Hallman Industries LLC will be winding down operations and ceasing all business under the Hallman brand.” You can read more about this on their website.

Ordering our Hallman range
I ordered our Hallman range (model HDFR48BSWT) in early May 2022 through Lowe’s for $5,769 + tax. I actually ended up getting a Memorial Day weekend discount of $750 on it after placing the order.
Here’s how that happened: I placed the order before they had their Memorial Day sale but I knew they would have their sale later that month. I called them once the sale started and received a refund of the discount amount because I called them within 30 days of placing the original order – score! The total for our Hallman 48 in. Double Oven Dual Fuel Italian Range came out to $5,019 + tax.
This makes the Hallman range significantly less expensive than some other comparable ranges.
Shipping and lead time for our Hallman range
I placed the order for our Hallman range in May 2022 and it arrived in early December 2022 (it just missed our first Thanksgiving at the new house!).
That was about the timeline I expected so I was pretty happy with that especially considering that our range was made to order in Italy (there are a lot of color and trim options to chose from) and there were shipping delays for most appliances across different manufacturers at the time (one of my friends had to wait over a year for her appliances!).
It arrived in a sturdy wood box and was dropped off at our front door/driveway.
I believe the shipping method might be different if you order from Hallman directly but this is how it arrived when I ordered through Lowe’s:

My husband and a friend of ours brought it inside. They said it was very heavy but doable.

It waited in our living room for a few days to get installed but I was so excited to take a sneak peek as soon as it arrived:

Installation of our Hallman range
My understanding is that our Hallman 48 in. Double Oven Dual Fuel Italian Range is the best of both worlds: you get the gas Hallman stove and then the electric oven. There are different versions of the Hallman range so make sure you’re ordering exactly what you want and need!
We got our Hallman range professionally installed by a local appliance company and I’m really happy with their installation. They asked for the installation documents that I received from Hallman ahead of time so they came prepared.
We paid about $500 to get it installed so that’s definitely an added cost to consider when you’re ordering a Hallman range. Not getting it professionally installed might void the warranty.
Detailed pictures of our Hallman 48 in. double oven dual fuel Italian range
What would a Hallman range review be without pictures? Let’s take a closer look at this beautiful Italian piece of art!
Here is our Hallman range from the front. I love the shade of bright white with the beautiful brass trim! I think our pot filler matches it perfectly.

Here is our Hallman 48 range with both of the oven doors open. The small oven is one of my absolute favorite features but more on that later!

Here is a more detailed view of the beautiful brass trim, I love the shape of the trim. It’s just enough detail without being too intricate!

Check out all those burners! There is a size for pretty much any pot or pan. The front left burner allows you to turn on both the inner and outer ring or you can opt to just turn on the inner ring for a tiny little pot!

Here’s another view of the Hallman stove!

Our Hallman stove came with a griddle. We have used it a few times but prefer to cook on pans, they’re less heavy and easier to clean but this is definitely a fun option for us for special occasions!

Functionality and my favorite features of our Hallman range
At this price point it’s not surprising that the Hallman range has more functionalities than your average appliance! Here are some of the functionalities that set it apart:
- multifunction oven:
- pizza cooking (for things like pizza, bread & sconces)
- upper & lower elements (like a conventional electric oven)
- lower element (for things like pastries and cakes)
- upper element (broiler function)
- grill baking/turnspit (for roast meats like turkey or chicken)
- grill & fan (for deep cooking meats)
- upper, lower & fan elements (convection)
- fan oven (ideal for batch baking)
- quick start (fast pre-heating)
- two ovens: one regular size and one small
The small oven is DEFINITELY one of my favorite features! It’s my first time having two ovens and I love that one of them is smaller. The small oven heats up so fast and is perfect if you’re baking something small like an individual sized pizza or just a small batch of six muffins!
Unique things to consider while using our Hallman range
Powering the gas burners is a little bit of a unique process, but nothing you can’t get used to. You push the knob and turn it past the spark icon for 3-5 seconds or more. It’s important to not let go of the knob until it holds the flame.
It’s normal for all igniters on one side to spark at the same time when turning on one of the burners. This was something I reached out to Hallman about because I thought it was unusual.
The Hallman range has a lot of oven functionalities so it takes a little bit of time to familiarize yourself with all of them. Thankfully, Hallman provides an overview sheet with a quick summary of each of the functions so you know which one they recommend based on what you’re baking. We printed out that sheet and keep it in the kitchen nearby for reference.
Cleaning our Hallman range
The instructions say to avoid abrasive or corrosive detergents as they may damage the oven. They also say not to use steam appliances for cleaning.
We have always cleaned our range with just warm water (except the glass on the oven door) and it has worked well for us.
I recently took apart and deep cleaned the whole area around the burners. I used a magic eraser on some parts that had grease baked on. It worked great for me and didn’t damage any of the parts of my range.
Quality of our Hallman range
Our range looks high quality and we didn’t encounter any issues the first three months or so. After that, we had two issues come up so far:
The first one is the rubber gasket came off on the small oven. The rubber tore randomly right at the corner.

We reached out to Hallman Industries customer support and they sent us a replacement part pretty quickly and free of charge as the range was still under warranty. We were able to install the replacement gasket ourselves.
The second issue that came up is that the igniter on one of the burners stopped working. The gas was still flowing but the spark to light the burner was missing when operating the knob. We’re in the process of getting this issue fixed through a local appliance company.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with the quality of the range and our purchase but disappointed we had issues come up as early as its first year of use.
Hallman range hood
Not necessarily part of this Hallman range review but something I wanted to still note: Our kitchen is very open and with such a large and powerful range, I wanted to make sure we had a powerful hood above the range that would not only look beautiful but also be able to help with any cooking smells. You can check out all the details around how we built our custom range hood here, I’m so happy with how it turned out and functions!
Hallman range: Pros and cons

I wasn’t able to find a lot of Hallman range reviews when I was looking for them so I hope you found my Hallman range review helpful, especially if you’re considering the Hallman 48 range! As always, feel free to reach out with any questions!

Tina, My name is Tina Duliba and I purchased a Hallman 30inch Model# PW76MP in 2018 from Home Depot. Our oven was professionally installed and I love all the features. Mine is white with chrome handles. Problem is the bottom heating element burned out. Hallman manufacturing is out of business in Texas and they are not answering their phone and no email address. I cannot find anyone that sells the part, we even tried modifying the part and that did not work. I have tried calling online and been to our local appliance store. Contacted Home Depot chat rooms, visited the store and finally contacted their corporate office and explained my situation and told them they are still selling a product that they cannot fix. I even tried LOWES, explaining I did not purchase the oven through their store, whom would they recommend? Hallman Manufacturing in Texas. Nope again. Going to try and sell the stove for parts. I guess here is my review of Hallman. Don’t buy the oven or the warranty. 0 stars – so sad.
Hi Tina,
I’m so sorry to hear about your experience! I just sent you an email.
Tina
It’s the same range as an Ilve Nostalgie (the first one), we just got w parts directly from Ilve for it and installed with no issue.
We just had ours installed – purchased just a few months before they announced their closure. We had purchased the extended warranties and we are missing a dishwasher handle that we had paid for, so I’m bummed about that. So far, though, everything is working and I’m hopeful it’ll continue to work…it sure is beautiful! Your cabinet handles are such a perfect match…would you be willing to share a link? 🙂
They really are beautiful, I hope you get the enjoy yours for a long time! I miss the small oven every day at our new house 🙂
Thank you so much! I have all the sources linked here under “Hills House”: https://hausandhand.com/shop-my-homes/
I bought the range and received it a couple months ago. I still need issues with the burners and had to get the knobs on correctly. They don’t seem accurate to the temperature degree inside the oven. Could you possibly give me a number or who I can contact to have somebody reach out professionally to help me. I did order directly through Hallman
Hi Tina, I’m sorry to hear that! I just recently learned that Hallman is closing/going out of business. My suggestion would be to find a local installer that specializes in premium ranges and is familiar with Hallman ranges.
Bummer to hear they are out of business. Was there another brand you considered you considered for those of us who love your taste?
Hi Lisa! There wasn’t another brand I was considering at the time, I had my heart set on this range but for our next kitchen remodel I’m considering ZLINE. I’ve heard great things and they also have a range that has the two ovens. The range hood above our Hallman range actually has a ZLINE insert and I was really impressed with the quality and functionality of it!
I purchased an 36″ duel fuel from Hallman. How the oven is not working properly. and the broiler function does not work at all. I purchased the oven on 7/3/24 and it was installed by my builder in late October 2024. Today 5/30/25 I tried to call for my extended warranty and I found the notice “Voluntary Liquidation notice to ‘Valued’ customers and creditors. The notices said that they are providing clear communication and updates throughout the process…… haha you cannot find a phone number or anyone to help. I contacted Home Depot, which appears to have purchased the remaining inventory. However that too was a dead end. However they did tell me I was entitled to a refund of the cost of my extended warranty. Does anyone know how to reach these people or the warranty service?
Hi Lynette, I’m sorry to hear that! These are the email addresses I communicated with when we had things come up: [email protected] and [email protected]
I love my Hallman range, but have not been able to figure out how to use the dual burner. I’d love to be able to use the smaller inner ring on its own for simmering, but don’t know if that is possible and if it is possible, how? Curious about your experience with that burner.
Hi Christina! Yes, I believe it’s possible but out of the two burners that have the inner and outer rings only one of them will allow you to use just the inner or outer ring by itself.
Wow, so disappointed in Hallman Industries! ZERO notification to customers. My 48” dual fuel range lasted 5 years and 2 months before the lower heating element went bad. This morning I received the “you’re entitled to a warranty refund” email and I also want back the $199 deductible for the service call since they cannot find the part! I won’t give up and I’m sure there are elements available somewhere in the world. Any help is welcomed!!
Hi Christine, I’m so sorry to hear that! I believe there are several Facebook groups for Hallman owners. I’ve heard there might be some crossover of parts between Hallman and Ilve, I would love to hear if you end up finding a way to get it fixed!
